Vietnamese shaking beef or Bo Luc Lac

Ingredients

2.5 - 3 Lbs of sirloin (flap meat), tri-tip, rib-eye, or tenderloin ⠀

Marinade: ⠀
3 Tbs soy sauce⠀
3 Tbs brown sugar ⠀
3 Tbs shaohsing wine⠀
2 Tbs oyster sauce⠀
1 Tbs fish sauce ⠀
5 - 10 cloves of garlic ⠀
2 tsp baking soda⠀

1 whole onion ⠀
2-3 roma tomatoes ⠀

Instructions

1) In a large bowl, mix in all the ingredients for the marinade - NOT including the baking soda. Marinade for 30 mins. ⠀
2) After 20 mins add in the baking soda (this helps tenderize the steak) ⠀
3) After marinating, heat up your wok and add 2 tbs of oil before stirring in half of the steak marinade⠀
4) Cook on one side for 3 - 5 mins, making sure that the steak is browned and charred nicely. ⠀
5) Toss in the onions and tomatoes. making sure to incorporate it together. ⠀
6) Top with sesame seeds and optionally (sesame oil) ⠀
7) Serve with jasmine rice and lime wedges. ⠀
