Total Time

45 min

Ingredients

1 tbsp chili/thai chili or garlic chili paste

2 tbsp oyster sauce

2 tbsp soy sauce

1 tbsp fish sauce

1 tbsp sugar

Instructions

  1. Rough chop your onions so that the onions are cut in long strands.

  2. Oil your pan and pre-heat until ready to sear.

  3. While your pan is heating up, mix all the sauce ingredients together. Add more sesame oil or honey to taste. You're aiming for a tangy-sweetness with tiny kick from the gochujang.

  4. Once the pan is hot, cook your onions until lightly brown.

  5. In the same pan, with your onions still browning, add the slices of beef. Cook until your sliced beef is brown and caramelized.

  6. Fold in your cheese on top and add lid to the pan so that the cheese melts throughout the slices of beef and onions.

  7. After 30-60 seconds bring your bread on top and scoop the meat using both the bread and your spatula to make your cheese steak.

  8. Enjoy!
